I've played music since I was 14 years old on the drums first then switched to pedal steel in 1981, took up Dobro and lap steel along the way. Moved to Nashville in 1982, owned 3 bars there, The Hitchin Post, The Turf and Tornadoes. I've played with Jeanie C Riley, Jeanie Pruett, Vern Gosdin, not long periods but I've worked with them and others on steel guitar. Kenny Chesney worked for me in 90-92 for 18 months so we know each other well. He left The Turf for his recording career and came back in 96 to film a video there. I've played dozens of shows with lots of  Nashville major artists on them. I've stayed away from the road as much as I could because of the kids and having businesses to run. Im pretty much self taught with help from other steel guitar friends in Nashville. I go back home about 4 times a year to see the family and play gigs or record. I plan to do a Surf Steel Guitar album with Ventures tunes and some of my own tunes. It's never been a hobby to me. I still practice quite a bit to work on new thoughts or something I've heard I can't get out of my head. I read and write the Nashville number system and consider it essential to work with. I have taught several students to play the drums or steel guitar. You can piece that into a shirt bio if you need that too. I can't remember half the stuff I did as a drummer but it was a terrific time in my life. It seems like another lifetime now haha.
